Overview
The KR4200 series of connectors, an outstanding alternative to Molex Mini-Fit power connectors, has the power to handle currents up to 9.0A with ease, making it particularly suitable for wire-to-wire and wire-to-board applications where design flexibility is required. The KR4200 series connectors were developed in response to the urgent need of various OEMs for high-current, high-density power connectors with design flexibility. Equipped with polarised housings, these connectors not only feature isolated terminals, positive locking design, but also low engagement force to ensure a robust and easy connection. For blind mating applications, the KR4200 series connectors show their unique advantages by allowing a certain degree of misalignment and providing up to 2.54 mm of float between the mating surfaces, greatly simplifying the assembly process while effectively preventing mismatches and potential damage to the terminals.
In addition, the KR4200 Series connectors are equipped with a flange design that helps to ‘gather’ the mating sockets for a more accurate mating process. During assembly, incorrect connectors can cause terminals to fall off, leading to end-product failure, which not only imposes additional liability costs on the manufacturer, but can also cause injury to individuals. However, the KR4200 Series connectors significantly reduce the risk of terminal stripping by providing Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) and locking redundancy, thereby effectively preventing end-product failure.
Advantages
- Self-Aligning Interface
An innovative self-aligning interface has been designed to solve the problem of mating connectors in hard-to-reach or space-constrained areas. The interface automatically aligns and accurately connects, dramatically improving operator convenience and productivity.
- Polarised mating geometry
The introduction of a unique polarised mating geometry ensures that headers and sockets are mated accurately and correctly, avoiding problems caused by mismatches and improving the reliability and safety of the connection.
- Positive locking housings
Our connectors are equipped with a positive lock housing with an easy-to-operate thumb latch design. This design not only ensures that the connectors are fully mated and securely locked, but also provides an intuitive and convenient operating experience for the user. It also prevents accidental disassembly of the connectors when they are not needed, enhancing system stability and security.
